The reputation of this, centuries old social landmark, is legendary - further distinguished as the Oldest Pub in Ireland to remain in the same family name. Indeed it's heritage is as interesting as its historic location, in whose midst it prospers. This traditional style Roadhouse established in 1780 on the Great Heath of Portlaoise is undoubtedly one of Irelands most authentic pubs: its thatched roof,mortar walls and styling reminiscent of yesteryear is very much part of the unique appeal which has made this tavern famous.
